Bookings are sales contracts generated from in-game purchases made by players and in-game advertising sales in a given period. In-game purchases occur when an individual buys a virtual item with real money in a game. In-game advertising means that a mobile game allows advertising to be incorporated into its experience, and its developer can earn money by selling ad space in their game.
MPU means monthly paying users, or the number of individuals who made a purchase of a virtual item at least once in one of our games in a month or a 30-day timeframe.
ABPPU stands for average bookings per paying user. It is the total amount of bookings attributable to in-game purchases (in-game advertising not included) in a given period, divided by the average number of MPUs during the period, divided by the number of months in that period.
Adjusted EBITDA — profit for the period, net of tax as presented in the Company's financial statements in accordance with IFRS, adjusted to exclude items that we do not consider indicative of our ongoing operating performance.
Operating profit (income/loss from operations) and net income (income/loss for the period net of tax) are the standard financial metrics to understand a company's profitability, which are presented in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). You can find them in the Databook that is available here.
We most often refer to a cohort as a group of users in a game who have some common features. For example, they reside in the same region, have downloaded the game on the same day or made similar in-game purchases.
